I’ve been working on creating the cast of the television series LOST for a commission client.  Just finished head #3.  Working with these head-sculpts is really a treat, but it’s also a challenge.  The resin of the heads is totally different from the vinyl of fashion dolls.  Vinyl has the ability to absorb some of the paint so that blending is possible with a fingertip.  The resin heads do not allow for blending.  You have to apply many layers to achieve depth and texture, and you have to allow a lot of time in between layers.  You cannot remove anything without removing the layers beneath it.  But, I love the results!
