More than a few years ago, I made my presence known on Earth.  Earth.  Isn’t that a weird word.  Say it out loud.  Is it really a word?  LOL  Earth.  Murmur.  Wharf.  These are some of my favorite words.  They make me chuckle.  I love the English language, but sometimes, it’s more than just slightly humorous.  But, I digress!  Yes, today is my birthday.  My daughter is making me a German chocolate cake from scratch.  It’s going to be a great day.  🙂 🙂 🙂

We got to visit a bit with our newest family member, Eva, the other day.  What a joy!  I really didn’t want to give her back to her mommy.  Holding Eva in my arms and feeling the weight of all 8 pounds of her took me back to the early days of my own children.  Hearing about Brady and Liana’s insecurities about parenthood also took me back.  It really doesn’t matter how many books you read or classes you attend, nothing can prepare you for the early days of that first baby.  It’s all a huge learning experience.  It’s frightening and fun and full of amazing moments.  And all too soon, the kids are in college.

Cameron is still on his GVHD roller coaster, but it sounds like the valleys are getting a tad bit shallower.  I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating…he’s an AMAZING little boy.  He is David, and he’s battling Goliath.  And we all know how that tale ends.  🙂

And so another year for me begins.  I’m going to play with dolls today and eat a huge piece of birthday cake with extra frosting.  Life is good.
